Follow up, American Express is flagging it as a stolen credit card because I'm paying Euros instead of USD. Any ideas?

In the EU a new two-way authentication will be mandatory. So I started testing and reviewing what to use: The current embedded Stripe applet, or the sperate Checkout page at stripe.com. For the later, I had to enable that feature. Seemingly that then disables the applet, no data was collected by Stripe. So I disabled the Checkout feature again. Could you try again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Tomorrow I’ll temporary disable registering vDos altogether. So I’ll have more time for testing and evaluating the new EU requirements and Stripe alternatives.

Can you also check if we can use PayPal? That's my preferred method, if possible.

Stripe and PayPal are competitors. So Stripe won’t support PayPal and vice versa.

You can’t transfer money between a Stripe and PayPal account, that’s what I meant with support. I don’t accept PayPal payments for VDos registrations, only Stripe (credit card) or bank transfers.

I, too, am having difficulty purchasing a network license. Our card was declined because our bank does not allow direct transactions to foreign countries. We use PayPal for those transactions. You stated above that you don't accept it for registrations, yet if I go to your donation page, PayPal pops up. Does Stripe allow anyone to use a standard credit card like PayPal does? If so, how do perform the transaction through Stripe? Thanks.

My major problem with PayPal is that one can reclaim the payment within 6 months (a mere “Didn’t receive” will do), while I can’t reclaim an issued registration. You can of course do the same with a credit card/Stripe. But I trust (hope) credit card companies will actually investigate a claim. Not just do a refund, no matter the time I spent to prove the registration was received (even an acknowledgement and excuses of the registree). In all, experiences with PayPal were very frustrating. Don’t care about the little donations I get, while that PayPal account was mostly setup to prevent it wouldn't be hijacked by someone else again. Alternatively you can use for instance transferwise.com. I’ll send you my bank account details in a PM. Jos

Thank you Jos. I look forward to hearing from you.
We have a legacy dBase IV application that would be quite difficult to replace and your version of the virtual machine is far and away better than dbDOS, especially when it comes to printing.

I sent you yesterday a PM with my bank account details, you didn’t get that? Best to stay away from dbDOS in a multi-user setting: www.vdos.info/faqs.html - SHARE - Record locking (RL) by multi-user applications. Jos

I did not. I double checked that I had the correct email address in my profile, but then remembered that I did receive the two emails from ProBoards to confirm my registration, so the address MUST be correct. Perhaps try again? I am so sorry to be such trouble.

Jos, please forgive me for coming back to this question! I'm still trying to donate one way or another to the vDos enterprise. vDos is useful, and I'd like to offer my support. I don't understand why PayPal would be an issue. It simply transfers my money to your account without transporting credit card numbers to and fro. I do these transactions every day, and have done so for decades. It's such a simple system that there's no point in learning any other method of sending payments. Are you able to explain in plain English why this doesn't work for you?

I thought I already explained clearly why I don’t accept a PayPal payment for registering vDos. My experiences with PayPal were that frustrating, it’s simply no option to me. I only accept donations made mids PayPal. My PayPal account is considered strictly private. The € 100 – 200 per year coming in, goes to donations I do myself.
