Hi - My old dos program Javelin is running correctly but very slowly, especially when it is just calculating. CPU usage per task manager is minimal (1-2%). I have set process priority to HIGH. Any suggestions? Thank you, Patrick

When there’s no disk activity or user interaction, vDos will at some moment decide your program is idle and release processor time back to Windows. You could try to set the undocumented IDLELOW= directive in config.txt to a high value. For instance IDLELOW=10000000, that will extend this timeout period.

BTW, I forgot to tell you that this did the trick.

Having the same problem. Sorry New to Dos

Add the line:
IDLELOW=10000000
to config.txt.

Add the line: IDLELOW=10000000 to config.txt. Jos Do I delete what is in there first? Attachments:

Just add it as the first line. You might once want to use some other options, and those are commented in here.

Then you apparently didn’t have the same problem (vDos going idle too soon).
What is your program?

I found this thread on Yardi: vdos.proboards.com/thread/270/pay-help-get-program-work. Seems to be based on QuickBooks and supposed to work in vDos... If you don't get it to work (don't know what's wrong in your screenshot), start vDos with the log option. Right click the vDos shortcut - Properties - Shortcut - Target, append /log. Start vDos/Yardi and submit the generated vDos.log file. Jos

That doesn't really help. To start with, generate the vDos.log file and submit that.
