A client wants to bundle VDos in an installation package for clients to run an old DOS-based program. The clients would then have the choice of registering vDos or not.
Is this permissible under your terms of usage?

Sure, your client is free to distribute and package/bundle vDos.

Hi,
I own a company that sells an old dos app that I wrote and would like to use vDos for unlimited distribution and installation/run rights with the app. Does vDos allow this? If so, I would like to pay for this right in a contract, even if only for one dollar. I simply want to protect my company's rights from any possible future change-of-terms and not have the rug pulled out from under the company, jeopardizing the company's operations.
Thank you.

There are virtually no terms of usage for vDos, besides those for modifying the sources. I don’t think any could be imposed retrospectively for current/existing vDos versions.
If you want this expressed/confirmed in a legal contract, you would have to draw up one yourself. I’ll then have a close look at that and consider to sign it.

Hi Jos,
I have a one-liner contract ready for your consideration. How would you like to receive it, by email?
Thank you,
Chas

You can send it by email: jas@vdos.info (change the "a" to an "o").

Is there an unlimited distribution license to avoid my clients having to pay you? I have no idea on the number of future sales nor any idea of which clients would refuse to pay me more so I can pay you. The system uses Btrieve 5.1 (assembler version) with PDS 7.1.
