I get the following issue when our dbase manager.prg calls additional PRG files. I edited the path in the PRG files because the message was originally C:\*.prg so now it includes the correct path of c:\packard\dbase.
mtcount is a file named mtcount.prg. It works in Dosbox, but we can not print fro dosbox.
Not a dBASE database.
?
USE COUNTER ALIAS c:\packard\dbase\MTCOUNT
Called from - c:\packard\dbase\MTINFO.prg
Called from - C:MANAGER.prg
Cancel, Ignore, or Suspend? (C, I, or S)

I never used dBase, but is “USE COUNTER ALIAS c:\packard\dbase\MTCOUNT” at all correct? The first argument should be a database filename, the second an alternative alias. “Not a dBASE database” indicates the file is not a valid database, while mtcount is a program, not a database?

I did not set this up so I can not verify the commands, but it works in dosbox. I wanted to try vdos to determine if we can print from it.

Perhaps someone with dBase experience can help you…

Hello,
Something is wrong with the path. The path you create is / does not seem to me necessary and will only cause more problems with regard to your problem.
The position how you start at the start with the dBase-command behind the dos-prompt with regard to your PRGs is important.
So for example: You are with CD <path> in your PRG's folder from the Dos prompt and then start with C: \ dBase \ dbase <prg name> if dBase itself is in its entirety in c: \ dBase.
Sorry for my bad English. I can read it fortunately.
Greeting Herman
