Hi, We're trying to use a 16-bit dos application called Opto. We're able to run it using dosbox but it has some issues and is corrupting the datbase it uses. I just tried vDosPlus 2015 and the version from here www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/vdosplus.html updated Feb 26 2018 and both versions try to open it as a windows application which gives me an error saying it's not compatible with 64 bit Windows. Is there a way I can force it to open using vDos? Thanks!

I don’t support vDosPlus, you could try the vDosPlus forum at SourceForge instead.

Whoops, sorry about that. I'm trying with vDos also and running into the same issue. Is this something that can be changed? If it can my client would be happy to pay for the networked license.

If the program is located on a non-Windows system, try to start it off a Windows PC locally. If that doesn’t apply, I would need a copy of the program to see why it is detected as a Windows instead of a DOS program.

It's on a network share on a Windows server but I tried copying it locally anyways and it's still the same thing. Is it ok if I email the exe to you?

Emails with executables (even zipped) won’t get through. You can send it by wetransfer.com to jas@vdos.info (the "a" is an "o").

My DOS Program doesn't start with a batch file. It launches with an 'exe' file, or maybe even a 'pif' file. How can vDos launch this program?

Start it from the vDos command prompt by <your program name><enter>, or by a line in autoexec.txt: <your program name>. Have a look at the FAQs page of vdos.info.
