Hello ahmednh,
As you describe your problem, I find it very confusing. Maybe if I explain it as follows, it helps:
Go with vdos in the relevant program or database workmap with the VDos prompt.
Start dbase from his own path behind the VDos prompt b.v as in my case: C:\dbase\dbase
dBase is now in the work path of the relevant program (extension prg or exe) or database (extension DBF) In case of program, it starts behind the dBase-prompt with DO <program name> or the database with USE <database> and then BROW behind the dBase dotprompt.
Hope this helps
Regards Herman

after lot of testing I found the problem
when running the vdos it will open the main menu of Dbase IV
when adding the programs and reports screen it will not be called by this way as the path not found
to resolve this issue I have copied the dbf file from the folder supposed to be to the main Vdos folder and it is running
But this way is not the right way
I need help so when open the vdos and start working the path should should be my programs folder
If any one can guide me with this

Do you actually have a “CD \dbase” in autoexec.txt. Then C:\dbase should be the default path, you can check by Menu – Catalog – Add file to catalog.

Either Alt+Enter while in the program, or WINDOW = 100 in config.txt.

Noticed in adobe pdf print is not working
pdf creator worked but the pages not printed correctly even I tried to adjust the fonts and size of letters but no change seems space between lines not controlled in print first few pages will be ok but starts to push the printing downwards (more gaps from the top edge)
the print on windows xp works good without any problems using any type of varietal pdf printers (Adobe, Pdf creator etc.. but not in VDos not ok
can I have steps to solve this please
