Just installed the latest vDos version. Deleted everything in Autoexec.txt. Copied my DOS application folder (ALUMNI) to C:\vDos. Opened vDos and got DOS window with C:\ displayed. Typed CD\ALUMNI. Typed ALUMWIN.BAT which contains:
@echo off cls numlock + caplock - rpgdll >NUL alumwin.exe rpgrmv >NUL exit
The alumwin.exe is my menu program which seems to work fine. I can make a menu selection and the appropriate program executes however, the keyboard doesn't work. To exit my program requires pressing the Esc key but that doesn't work. To get out, I have to reboot Windows.

What when you start one of the programs directly, w/o those commands and menu program? If they are written in Visual Basic, you’re out of luck since VB has a hardware level interface with the keyboard.

I used an RPG II Development System from Lattice, Inc. of Illinois available in the mid-nineties. I was able to code programs in RPG and compile them into an EXE file.

You can't start one of the programs standalone?

I tried running a single program and got the same results - the screen locks up and I have to reboot. DOSBox works just fine but, I was hoping to take advantage of the additional vDos features. Thanks for your suggestions.
