I have an old DOS print estimating program (Franklin Estimating) which after entering parameters will show a diagram of the press sheet layout. The text entry screens are of but the press sheet layout screen is not. This works fine with DOSBox, but not vDos. In vDos I get characters rather than lines. I have attached screenshots of both versions. In the vDos version the blue text is from the layout screen. The other recognizable text is from the previous screen. I have tried all of the config.txt suggestions that I have found. Different fonts, using a minus sign in FONT = , etc. I have also tried vDosPlus with the same issue. Granted, you probably are not familiar with Franklin, but any thoughts that I can try? Could it have something to do with why DOSbox is supposedly built for games? Anyway, I've hit the proverbial wall. Any input would be appreciated. System: Windows 7 and Windows 10. I believe vDos is 2018.05.01. I tried adding the /log switch but then it wouldn't launch from the batch file. Thanks in advance! Tim Attachments:

DOSBox emulates more hardware stuff than vDos. Screens superimposed could be due to the program selecting and writing to different video pages, whereas vDos only supports one video page. Colored bars could be the program selecting soft fonts. Though that doesn’t really explain the messed up layout with the missing lines that are displayed with DOSBox.
Your program could address the video card at a low level, mostly associated with games. If you submit a copy of the program, I could have a look. Many coulds, so don’t have too much hope for the program running in vDos.

I will try to send the application. There are several years worth of estimates embedded in the program and I need to touch base with our sales manager to make sure any sensitive information is stripped out. Unfortunately he is on vacation this week. I will get back to you with something next week.
Have a great weekend. .
