Hi,
I'm trying to run a DOS program with VDos which I just downloaded and installed. The WordPerfect test ran fine. I get the error code R6002 - Floating Point Not Loaded. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Doug

For as I know WP (you probably mean the DP test program?) doesn’t use an eventually FPU unit.
You’re trying to run a DOS program, that requires a hardware or software FPU? vDos emulates a hardware FPU, your program doesn’t detect that, or it expects a software FPU. No idea why your program doesn’t detect the presence of an ‘actual’ hardware FPU.
I would need a working copy of your program to see why the FPU isn’t detected.

Hi Jos,
Yes, sorry. I meant DP test program. Do you only need the 'exe' program that I am trying to run? There are a few .exe programs which I believe the main program runs/calls. It is a program which runs a testing machine through a data acquisition card on an old pc. I'm looking into updating the old box (running Windows 95).

I would need all to replicate the error message of your program. Could be a single executable, or more if needed. You just have to experiment to eventually limit what you eventually would submit.

The reported error is R6002. R6003 was mentioned here: vdos.proboards.com/thread/321/start-clipper-program. That required a patch of the executable to correct buggy code establishing the CPU speed. Hard to believe, but vDos was that fast, the measured time to execute that code was 0. Used as the divisor in a next CPU calculation. R6003 is however not related to R6002. Jos
