vDos will only go to deep sleep when there’s no user or disk activity for some 5 minutes. So a crash in the middle of an operation makes no sense. Could you verify the ladies are actually using the latest vDos version (R:\vDos\vDos.exe)?

For what it's worth ... I've left vDos up and running for days through logout & login cycles, sleep & awake cycles, and suspend & unsuspend cycles and haven't seen this problem. Might be that app.
Me and almost all of my clients run a Foxprox 2.6 app on Window 10 with nothing special going on. vDos in one directory, the app in another, DOSPRN for printing. No special settings.
I DID rewrite some parts of the app to reduce complexity. Windows XP (NTDVM) seemed more stable in ways I can't explain. And vDos would occasionally crash when the code was complex (mostly file manipulations). So I rewrote those parts of the app and have no complaints now.
