I loaded edit.com in Vdos and it starts the ide but after that all keystrokes are ignored and I need to shut it down with [x]..
I tried enabling mouse but it had no effect.
What am I doing wrong??
Erik.
(btw: i am using 16-bit programs with no problem at all).

EDIT.COM communicates with the keyboard by hooking into INT 9. vDos doesn’t emulated INT 9, so EDIT.COM won’t detect any keypresses.

Ok, thanks.
Is there any way to force Vdos to access Int9?
Erik.

You would mean vDos to emulate INT9 was triggered. No, vDos gets its keyboard input from Windows messages. With keyboard scan codes already translated to Unicode, dead keys handled and so on. No sense to then emulate INT9 with only the scan code passed on and redo the translation by own code or a keyboard driver.
