We would like to move the Tally Dot Matrix Printers from being attached to workstations and have them directly attached to the network.
Instead of : LPT1 = SEL:"\\OPS-1\\OPS-INVOICE" RAW TIO:0
LPT2 = SEL:"\\OPS-1\\OPS-HARDCOPY" RAW TIO:0
LPT3 = SEL:"\\SVR-1\\OPS-PREPSHEETS" RAW TIO:0
Can I have something like : LPT1 = SEL:"192.168.15.1" RAW TIO:0
LPT2 = SEL:"192.168.15.3" RAW TIO:0
LPT3 = SEL:"192.168.15.5" RAW TIO:0
Cheers, Steve

You could try, but I’m afraid that won’t work because of SEL:"this_is_supposed_to_be_a_Windows_output_device".
Adding a Windows printer like “Generic Text Only” connected to the IP address will of course work.

You could also define the printers (linked to the IP addresses) at the server. Then use SEL: somewhat like now. That will also guarantee printjobs don't mix up.

They only output Epson type escape sequences and text to the printer. No graphics. (If that makes any difference to you first response!)

RAW already indicated the DOS output is going as-is to the printers.
My main concern would be the label printers getting distinct data streams from workstations ‘simultaneously’ printing. A central sentinel, like the server, controlling and publishing those printers would do the job.
