using Windows 7 Pro, permissions must have changed, so can't open vDos anymore, error message is "Vdos should not run elevated". Any ideas how to correct permissions to solve this issue? Thanks.

Have a look at the properties of the shortcut that starts vDos.exe. Shortcut Tab - Advanced - Run as administrator.
And the properties of vDos.exe, Compatibilities Tab - Run this program as an administrator.

ADMIN=ON is a last resort for exceptional situations. Generally vDos shouldn’t start elevated. If so, you have major security issues since ALL programs would start elevated without a Windows warning!

UAC settings are disabled (I need that).
The same problem didn't happen with previous versions of vDOS,
so that's the only solution that I have found to work.

It is not a problem, but an informative enhancement: Something is terribly wrong with your security settings. All programs run elevated without you being warned.
