Have vDos running on 64-bit Win 7 machine using mainly default settings,
no problems. I would like to run XtreeGold. The program loads but will not display files
in sub directories or perform any commands. Maybe this is a memory issue .
Any ideas ?

DOS DirFirst and DirNext functions work different from Windows file/directory inquiries. To continue from earlier found positions in file listings, DOS programs will set, swap, or modify the DTA. vDos does its best to translate that mechanism to Windows search handles, but you can’t jump around with Windows search handles like with DOS FindNext/DTA. The latter is related to FAT disk entries.
Why don’t you just use Windows Explorer. Or if you insist on a text mode interface: ZTree, FAR Manager, DOS Navigator or File Commander.

Thank you for explaining things Jos, I'll give some of your suggestions a try. I find that Xtree Gold does the job so well, even after all these years.
