I'm curious about the font rendering. The supplied font looks pretty good, but when I switch to Consolas it comes out looking rather different to the same font used in a standard Windows command prompt window - when the height is the same the text in vDos has wider spacing and is much heavier. Not sure how to attach an image here (it seems to accept only an http: link, no image upload option) or I could show you. Is this intended? Can it be tweaked?

Consolas, like other Windows monospaced font files, contains separate bitmap images for specific font sizes. The ones you can select in the CMD properties. Those seemingly have other dimension ratio’s and properties than the TTF font itself. vDos/FreeType only uses the latter. So that would explain the different appearance. Nothing to do about that.
The vDos internal font is optimized for a 1:2 ratio, like the original most used 8x16 DOS fonts.
If you want to attach or embed an image, you have to use the Reply button to the right instead of doing a Quick Reply.

Thanks. The 'insert image' button (on the full reply toolbar) requires an http:// link it doesn't offer the option to upload an image.

There's also the large Add Attachment button on the right side: Which I didn't notice at all. Apologies!

Thanks for the update in latest version 2022.05.01 - looks much nicer now. Not quite the same as NTVDM but the aspect ratio is now the same and I actually prefer it to NTVDM.
