Hi Jos!
I tried vDos latest version under Windows 11 Home 21H2 today, but it didn't start. He waits for a few seconds, but then nothing happens. Maybe not compatible with it?
Thanks, Mic

You’re the first to report such behavior.
I have no Windows Home PC to verify. Furthermore it’s unclear vDos doesn’t start with the initial setup with the DP demo or your program.
Could you start vDos with the logging option (….vDos.exe /log) and post the generated vDos.log file?

I didn't change anything, I just installed vDos and started it.
Here is the log:
" vDos 2022.05.01 CodePage: 852 Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: CON Invalid path reference: PRN Invalid path reference: PRN Invalid path reference: PRN Invalid path reference: AUTOEXEC.BAT "

There’s no logical explanation: vDos notices the default DOS drive reference C: is invalid. Its setup seemingly failed, the associated line “C: => (Local) C:\vDos\” is missing from the log file. However then vDos would throw an exception.
Download and reinstall vDos, perhaps vDos.exe somehow got mangled.

I downloaded it again, but it won't start under windows 11 either.
i installed windows 10 pro but the new version won't start there either, only on windows 7.

So it becomes more mysterious. Windows 11 Home will be used by more, while Windows 10 Pro by many.
You’re however the only one with this issue, for which I have no explanation whatsoever.
Perhaps someone else has an idea what would be going on…

We have been using vDos on Windows 11 Home 21H2 and it's running perfecly and so far no issues. A few days ago we decided to buy a vDos license with network registration (aocen). Just curious about your problem.

There is no meaningful explanation for it yet, but fortunately there is no problem with the 2021 version.
