hi.
something odd that we have encountered, the task manager has been showing the task of vDos is running, however nothing showed up on the win10 machine. this was the link used to download setup, should be latest version instead.
setup default option was used,
nothing appeared, check the task manager, yeah, it is running but background mode like.
the command prompt was used to see log

Strange, the vDos.log file is created after the vDos window is successfully created, it’s only not shown yet. The task manager also shows vDos is real busy, it would be stuck in some loop?
Add this line to config.txt: WINDOW = 40
vDos cycles thru calculated font sizes to come as close as possible to the desired window size, default 50%. Simplified: If the resulting window would be too large, try a smaller size, else a larger one. Jumping forwards and then back to the same font size is trapped, but perhaps that test is not conclusive in your situation?
Is this issue only with one specific PC, does/did an earlier version run correctly?

hi Jos, this is to be honor to learn vDOS as it is the very first time to know vDOS to try. DOSbox has been using, the only PC on hand for usage. vDOS 2022, changed config.txt to be with WINDOW=40, it is the same nothing is shown.
the vDOS 2022 has another issue after installation, the start menu has no show, in contrast, the old version 2015.04 is just fine. 2015.10 has no available to download, no test yet. I have tried the old vDOS 2015.04, it works. you may see the screen captured of updated to the post.
best regards xiaolaba

WINDOW=40 was already a long shot. Beyond that we get at things outside vDos own code. Like the system clock not being updated, a bug in the FreeType library…
I could send you a vDos version in between of 2015.10.01 and 2022.05.01, for instance 2018.05.01 to check.
In the spirit of being portable, no start menu entries are created anymore.
