I work for a company hat uses an old DOS program for inventory, SO's , PO's etc. I want to take as much data as possible, such as customer info, inventory numbers, product data, etc. Is there a way to export the data into a CSV file? The file ext.'s are mostly CDF, some CDL.

CDF and CDL extensions are unknown to me. You could first have a look with a hexeditor at the first bytes of those. Perhaps they are common extensions (like Btrieve) ‘in disguise’. You could then use an utility to export the data directly.
If not, I guess youR best effort would be to ‘print’ as much data you can. Cancel the actual print process, or set LPT1=DUMMY in config.txt. Open #lpt1.txt in an editor, and remove eventual headers and the like. Open the result in for instance Excel, define the field lengths, and export the worksheet to CSV (or another format).
It will at least save you tedious retyping the data.
