Hi all, any help would be appreciated!
My old DOS software called Raintree ran fine networked since 2019. While using it a few days back, I hit a weird combo of key strokes and it flashed "file locking off" for 2 seconds. I never seen that in my 20+ years of using this software! The only noticeable operational change is allowing duplicate patient names entry without a warning first. Not sure if that has anything to do my situation.
So to try to remedy that, I restored a backup version of vDos + Raintree from 3 weeks ago, and copied over the current patient databases for ideally "old program functionality restored + current patients". It didn't make a difference.
Now, when I try to log in from a Windows 11 computer, the desktop icon does nothing. When I go into explorer and click on the actual vDos.exe, the program will say "clinic locked". From another Windows 7 computer, the desktop icon does nothing (actually greyed out itself), and clicking the actual vDos.exe, it says "vDos should not run elevated", which I seen on the boards. I tried adding ADMIN=ON in either the config.txt on the server or the networked computer with no luck. And I'm afraid anything more I do at this point will make things worse.
FYI, I have free access to Practice Fusion & Kareo, but I still prefer the efficiency and simplicity of my old DOS program.
Thanks, James

Well, I already answered this by direct email.
Would be a (standalone versus network) configuration issue of the program. Invoked by “a weird combo of key strokes” ?

Just wanted others to know Jos replied quickly but it went to spam.
I solved it! I checked the restored folder, it was no longer shared to my surprise, even though was backed up as such. Adjusted and problem solved!
Need to work on weird combo of keystrokes for duplicate name filtering but vDos is rock solid still! Thanks Jos for a great program.
