Hi Jos, I have been supporting a Borland TV based program that I developed in 1996-8. Way back then under DOS (and I am pretty sure under Windows XP) I had to include 2 files in the execution path, one called DPMI16BI.OVL and the other called RTM.EXE. As far as I can recall if these files were no in the same directory as the executable program then it would not run. (I have long since forgotten the significance of these files! ) I have just tried running the program under vDos without either of these files being present and it seems to run ok. Any ideas why? Hope you have a great festive season. Cheers, Steve

My guess: The BIOS and DOS are real mode, not protected mode, programs. In vDos both function however outside of the emulated CPU.
Best wishes to you also.
Jos
