I'm running a Foxpro 2.5 dos program on a peer to peer network. Recently one of the production programs bombed out. I reduced the file size from 50 MB to 25 MB, and the problem went away. DOS has a 4 GB file limit, what abut networked vDOS?

The maximum file size is dictated by the file system of the formatted disk partition. Though for indexed DOS files it is mostly 2 GB due to the 32-bit signed parameter of the DOS LSEEK API. A local or network drive doesn’t matter.
You’re sure the program fails when the file size increases to 50 MB? Not a one-time incident caused by a network or drive failure. If the file is not hosted at a dedicated server, but a workstation in use, problems are to be expected.
