I'm running some Clipper 5.2 and FoxPro applications on W10 64 bit on a network in a domain using vDos. Currently the WS2022 server where the data is located is set up to use SMB1 which we understand is required for Clipper to avoid corruption issues.
Removing SMB1 and going over to SMB2 is clearly desirable. Does vDos require SMB1 or can we move to SMB2? Also does anyone know for certain if doing so will cause corruption issues with the Clipper apps running under vDos?
My vDos version is 2019.05.01

vDos filesystem is a subset of that of Windows, where primary vDos/DOS drive letters are translated to Windows paths. So if Windows has no problems (and of course it hasn’t) with SMB2, so won’t vDos and so neither Clipper.
If correct, I vaguely recall there were issues mixing Windows XP with later versions in combination with SMB2.
About time you upgrade to the 2023.05.01 version…
