Hi All,
I am new to vDOS - I am trying to convert some old quattro pro squeezed (compressed) spreadsheet files to excel so I need to run quattro pro on dos. I downloaded and installed the quattro pro 5.0 dos programma.
Used vDOS to install it and this went well (copied all installationsfils to one disk1 directory and ran it. OK.
Now when i start quattropro within vDOS by using q.exe a small window pops up with the quattro pro programma (I think my resolution is larger than the original) but after a second or 2 it disappeares and vDOS is also quit.
What do I do wrong?

The small window will be due to QP running in graphic mode. vDos only supports VGA 640x480. If it’s a onetime only job, your best bet would be DOSBox (more graphic modes), or a (virtual) Win 32 machine.

Thanks Jos,
I still have a laptop with floppy drive running windows xp - which is 32 bit. Can I run the programme in a dos shell there you think Or do I have to install something?

The program should run just fine as-is.

Lucky to have kept that old Medion laptop with floppy and windows XP
Thanks Stefan
