Is there a way to designate a different paste key, rather than Ctrl-V ?
Alternately, is there a mechanism to invoke paste from within my application? This would allow me to capture the desired keystroke in my code and then invoke the paste operation.

REMout rem CTRL+V = OFF in config.txt.
Use Ctrl+Win+Right mouse button, Ctrl+Alt+V, or the System menu - Paste Clipboard text.
You can’t invoke paste by code.

Ctrl-Alt-v would be OK, but it doesn't work. My application receives a Alt-v keystroke but nothing is pasted. Can paste only from the system menu.

Strange, I just now downloaded vDosSetup myself and installed vDos. All three methods work.

So far I've only tried using your latest update. I can try the earlier versions as well...

I didn't realize you were using a later update. That has a new config.txt option: ALTMOD=ON|OFF. Added for users that don't have a Win key, old keyboards and Macs. So they can use the Alt key instead of Win. But that also disabled Ctrl+Alt+V if ALTMOD is not set to on. Probably I should re-enabled that key combination (even if ALTMOD=OFF, the default).

Not sure I follow completely, but I got Ctrl-Alt-V working in the latest (July 15, 2021) file by using ALTMOD=ON.

Some users don’t have a Win key on their keyboard. So they can’t use Ctrl+Win, ALTMOD is added so the Alt key can be used instead of Win.
Ctrl+Alt+V was (unintentionally) already accepted for pasting, but with the new ALTMOD option this has to be set.
