I had to upgrade my OS to Win10 from XP. So I just installed VDOS+ to get my beloved Wordstar (WS) working and read all the documentation, played around with it, but can't figure out 1problem I didn't see on this forum: In XP, when I clicked on a WS document file with extension associated to WS, it loaded the file automatically into WS in 1step! I tried to do the same with the autoexec.txt using the same code as XP, but it failed everytime:
USE c: c:\
c:\ws\ws.exe %1 exit
Does VDOS+ fail to recognize the '%' character? I tried the %~1 and WS merely tries to open a file called '~1' instead of the clicked file. How do I get this to work so I can click on any WS file anywhere on my hardrive and have it load into WS?

vDos.exe indeed does not recognize %1 (2, 3, …). Instead you’ll have to do:
c:\ws\ws.exe %WIN_VDOS%
And of course associate WS documents to vDos.exe.

You are asking about vDosPlus (at least I think that's what you mean by "VDOS+"), not vDos. vDosPlus is not supported here. You'll need to find a vDos Plus forum and ask there.
