I am 90% of the way, but need help!
In the "vDos-Initial Test" box I have deleted the test verbiage and replaced it with the path to my file:
nvprog\nv.exe
If I then press Enter my NewViews program runs fine
However, how do I save my new text so that clicking on the "vDos-Initial Test" icon will start NewViews without having to type it in every time?
I have read answers that say "click on the save command" but I have no such items showing.
I was never very good at writing even the most basic or programs in DOS, so I assume there is a simple key combo I press to save my newly-typed command line
Thank you

To the remaining 10%, assuming the nvprog directory is Windows C:\vDos\nvprog:
Open the autoexec.txt file in the vDos directory, and replace its content by: CD nvprog nv.exe
Save autoexec.txt, and start "vDos-Initial Test" again.
If that works, add a third line to autoexec.txt: EXIT
Eventually rename the "vDos-Initial Test" shortcut to "NewViews"
