Want to open the vdos program in the a specific spot in our three monitors. I believe it's opening in the main display only. Adjusting the opening position to an x-position that is further than the edge of the main display results in it opening in the center of the window. Is this possible?

You use an old vDos version? "...x-position that is further than the edge...". More recent vDos versions have a resolution independent approach.
The vDos window is created at the monitor you start it.
I only have two monitors, can’t handle more. vDos pinned to the taskbar. Starting left or right, I click the icon there. You could also create desktop shortcuts at the monitors.
Positioning and scaling the window is resolution independent. One would select a monitor for vDos to work on. So this seems a sensible solution. Without creating dedicated startups… I click here to use it, but going to work with it somewhere else?
